GetMy Books

Terms of service

Version: 2026-10-12.2

In force from 12 October 2026. Approved by Rob Duncan, director of Get My Books Ltd, on 12 October 2026.

Who we are. Get My Books Ltd, company number 16825792, registered in England and Wales. Registered office: 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX. Email: support@getmy.group.

These terms are a licence to use the GetMy Books software. They are between Get My Books Ltd ("we", "us") and the business that signs up ("you"). You accept them on behalf of that business by ticking the box that says so when you create your account; we record when you did and which version you accepted (the version above). When the version changes, you are asked to accept the new one before you use GetMy Books again.

1. What GetMy Books is

1.1 GetMy Books is software you use from your own Claude account through the Model Context Protocol. It reads your company's Xero organisation and the bank statement files you give it, and it finds things in your books that may be wrong or missing: unreconciled bank lines, VAT figures to check, missing receipts, upcoming deadlines and similar.

1.2 It is a software tool, not a service. We licence the software to you. We do not provide accountancy, bookkeeping, tax, legal or financial services. Get My Books Ltd staff do not view, review, prepare, correct or analyse your books, even if you ask us to. Our support covers the software only (signing in, connecting, errors, how a feature works). It works from your description of the problem and from service logs, which hold no data from your books; it never views your books data, and does not ask for screenshots of your books.

1.3 Findings are things to check, not advice. Every finding shows the records behind it so you can confirm it in Xero. Each check says what it did not cover. Nothing GetMy Books shows is advice, and you must not rely on a finding without confirming it in Xero or with your own adviser.

1.4 You do the work. GetMy Books proposes; you decide. A change to your Xero books is made only when you press Approve on a preview of that change. GetMy Books does not file anything with HMRC, Companies House or anyone else: you or your accountant file.

2. Your account

2.1 You need a Claude account of your own (from Anthropic, under Anthropic's terms), a Xero organisation you are authorised to connect, and a sign-in we accept.

2.2 You must be authorised to act for each company you connect. You are responsible for everyone who signs in under your account and for keeping sign-in details secure.

2.3 By signing up you confirm you are acting for your business — a limited company, or a sole trader acting in the course of trade — and not as a consumer. GetMy Books is not for consumers.

2.4 You use Xero under Xero's terms and Claude under Anthropic's terms. By using GetMy Books you instruct us to return your Xero data into your Claude conversation, and you confirm you have the right to do so.

3. Price and payment

3.1 The subscription is £19.99 per company per month, billed monthly in advance through Stripe. Get My Books Ltd is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged. If it registers, we will tell you at least 30 days before any change to what you pay. Each Xero organisation you connect is one company.

3.2 You can cancel at any time in the Stripe customer portal. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the month you have paid for. We do not refund part months.

3.3 Deleting your account cancels your subscription. When you delete your account on the start page, the subscription of each company only you use is cancelled at once, before anything is deleted. If a subscription cannot be cancelled, nothing is deleted and you are asked to try again.

3.4 If a payment fails, Stripe retries it. If it is still unpaid 14 days after it was due, we may suspend access to that company until it is paid.

3.5 We may change the price with at least 30 days' notice by email. The new price applies from your next renewal after the notice ends. You can cancel before then.

4. Your responsibilities

4.1 You are responsible for your books, your tax affairs, your filings and every change you approve. This includes checking each finding in Xero before acting on it, and checking every preview before you approve it.

4.2 You are responsible for the statement files you give GetMy Books being the right files for the right company and account.

4.3 You must keep your own records as the law requires. GetMy Books is not a record-keeping system: your records stay in Xero and with your bank.

4.4 You must follow the acceptable use policy.

5. Data

5.1 How we handle personal data is in the privacy notice. For the data in your books, we act as your processor under the data processing agreement, which forms part of these terms. Our subprocessors are listed in subprocessors.

5.2 Bank statement text is read in memory for the request it is given in, and never stored.

5.3 What you see in Claude passes through your own Claude account. Anthropic is your provider, not our subprocessor, and its terms govern what it does with your conversations.

6. The software

6.1 As is. The software is provided as is and as available. We do not promise that it is free of errors, that it finds everything that is wrong, or that it will always be available. We will use reasonable care and skill in running it.

6.2 We may change the software, including adding or removing checks. If we remove something that materially reduces what you pay for, we will tell you and you may cancel.

6.3 Third-party services (Xero, Claude, Stripe, Companies House) are outside our control. If one changes or stops, a feature that depends on it may stop.

6.4 The software, and everything in it, belongs to Get My Books Ltd. You get a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it for your own business during your subscription. You must not copy, resell, or reverse engineer it, except as the law allows.

7. Liability

7.1 Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow to be limited.

7.2 Subject to 7.1, we are not liable for:

7.3 Subject to 7.1, our total liability under or in connection with these terms, in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, is limited to the greater of £1,000 and the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits our liability to data subjects under Article 82 of the UK GDPR.

7.4 We set these limits because of the price, and because you confirm every finding and approve every change.

8. Ending

8.1 You can end these terms at any time by deleting your account on the start page (which cancels your subscriptions, 3.3), or by cancelling your subscription and disconnecting your companies. You can download your account data first (the privacy notice says what it holds).

8.2 We can end them, or suspend access, with immediate effect if you break these terms or the acceptable use policy materially, or fail to pay. We can end them for any reason with 30 days' notice, and refund fees for the period after termination.

8.3 When these terms end: your access stops; we revoke our Xero connections for your companies and delete their stored tokens; and we delete or anonymise your other data as the privacy notice and the data processing agreement say, except records we must keep by law. Deleting your account does all of this at once for each company only you use: the software revokes and deletes the Xero tokens and deletes everything it holds for the company, including its activity log. Only Stripe's own records (Stripe is an independent controller for payment data) and backups remain; backups roll off within 14 days. We keep our own invoices and billing records for 6 years.

9. General

9.1 We may update these terms with at least 30 days' notice by email. The new version applies once you accept it, which you are asked to do before you next use GetMy Books after the notice ends; if you do not accept it, you can delete your account instead.

9.2 Notices to us: support@getmy.group. Notices to you: the email on your account.

9.3 Neither of us is liable for delay caused by events beyond reasonable control.

9.4 These terms are the whole agreement between us about GetMy Books. No one else has rights under them (Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999).

9.5 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. You may also bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK where you are based.
