GetMy Books

Acceptable use policy

In force from 12 October 2026. Part of the terms of service.

When you use GetMy Books, you must not:

  1. Connect a Xero organisation, or supply a statement file, for a business you are not authorised to act for.
  2. Use GetMy Books to offer bookkeeping, accountancy or other services to third parties, or to run it for clients. It is licensed for your own business's books.
  3. Share your sign-in, or let anyone use GetMy Books under your account who is not authorised by your business.
  4. Try to reach another customer's data, get round the approval card, the access checks or the rate limits, or probe, scan or test the security of the service without our written permission. To report a security issue, follow SECURITY.md.
  5. Overload the service or Xero through it: automated calls in bulk, or loops that call tools repeatedly.
  6. Put malware, or content you have no right to, into anything GetMy Books reads.
  7. Use GetMy Books for anything unlawful, including fraud, money laundering or tax evasion, or to create false records.
  8. Copy, resell, or reverse engineer the software, except as the law allows.
  9. Use data obtained from Xero through GetMy Books to train or improve artificial intelligence or machine-learning models. Xero's developer terms forbid it.

We may suspend access to stop a breach of this policy, and will tell you why.
